Travel
Good access to the region is provided by the
A1(M) trunk road from the north and south, the
A69/A66 trunk roads over the Pennines from the
west, and the A68 for day 4.
Newcastle and
Durham-Tees Valley Airports
serve many destinations throughout the UK and Europe. Newcastle sits on the fast
East Cost Mainline with direct rail links to many cities including London, Leeds, Sheffield,
Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.
DFDS Seaways from Newcastle Ferry Terminal
also gives direct access to Holland for travel from mainland Europe.

- The village of Wooler, close to Days 2 & 3, offering:
- The village of Belford, close to Days 2 & 3. Belford is an historic Georgian Market Town nestling between the
beautiful Northumbrian coast and the Cheviot Hills. Built as a Model Town in the 1800s it has wonderful architecture and
a range of attractive shops such as The Wooden Toy Shop, Belford Interiors and Belford Craft Gallery.
There are hotels, Bed and Breakfasts aplenty and places to linger over a coffee or a meal.
- Walk the St. Cuthbert's Way! This is a historic route that goes via many interesting abbeys.
St Cuthbert's Way passes through the JK Day 2 Assembly field and across the Day 3 map.
